2014 was an awesome year. It was the year we decided to create this book blog, and what a blast it was! We really didn’t expect that we would get this far, even reaching our 1st blogversary last January 1st. So now it’s time for us to look back on the highlights of our 2014 and our goals and resolutions for 2015.
1. Officially started our Blog
This blog has actually been around since late 2013, but we only decided to officially open it as a BOOK blog on the 1st of January, 2014. Check out our welcome post!
2. Book Blogger Love-A-Thon 2014
This was one of the most fun things we did in 2014! We had a blast doing all these challenges but what made it even better was how much love we felt in the blogging community.
3. Soupy Sundays
Soupy Sundays was our attempt in doing discussion posts about any topic in general, every Sunday. Well, we haven’t written one in a LONG time but here’s to looking back to our first discussion post in our Soupy Sundays Feature!
4. Wibbly Wobbly Wednesdays Feature
Back in 2014, we started a feature in the blog where we featured books that had something to do with time - whether it’s about time travel, set in the future or past, or as long as it felt timey whimey. Our first post.
5. Interviewed 10 different bloggers
This was such a fun way for us to meet a lot of great and awesome bloggers, not just in the Philippines but even the other side of the world. Check out these awesome ladies!
6. Attended the 35th Manila International Book Fair
Well this event certainly made a huge dent in our wallets. I wish I could say the same about my TBR list… >.< This is the 2nd time we attended the MIBF and once again, it was a great experience!
Check out our MIBF experience recap!
7. Gayle Forman Book Signing
GAHHH - our first ever book signing experience! Here's the recap!
8. Stephanie Perkins Book Signing
We met the lovely Stephanie Perkins and her husband Jarod. One of the best days of our life! Recap here.
9. Marie Landry guest post
The lovely author of the Angel Island series, Marie Landry, did a guest post on our blog. Check it out here.
10. First physical ARC
This book arrived in January, and we were beyond happy to receive it! We felt really, well, official after receiving our first physical arc.

11. Reviews, reviews, and reviews!
We reviewed a LOT of books in 2014. Go and check out our list of reviews here!
12. Our 1st giveaway!
This is our way of celebrating the holidays (Christmas and New Year) and our 1st Blog Birthday. It’s actually still open, and you can get a chance to win a copy of MY TRUE LOVE GAVE TO ME by Stephanie Perkins, Rainbow Rowell, Holly Black, David Levithan and other authors. Go here to enter.
Needless to say, it was an amazing year! And now, to our 2015 goals and resolutions!
1. Reading Goals
We didn’t reach our reading goals last year, but we hope that we can this year. Let's go! :)
Kimi - 100 books
Audrey - 75 books
Beryl- 60 books
2. Followers & Views
Hm, well, we don’t really want to put a number to this goal, because stats aren’t really everything, but we hope that we could improve on this aspect this year.
3. Be more organized
Last year, we had a really hard time keeping track of book releases, reviews, TBRs, blog posts and others. This year, we hope to become more organized book bloggers, and actually *shudders* schedule our posts - which we never did last year, by the way. But since school keeps getting in the way, it would really be best if we just schedule all our blog posts in advanced so we won’t abandon this blog again (like last year, sorry about that!). We are also trying to find better ways to be ahead on our reviewing.
4. Be more active
As we mentioned above, there was one time when we took a long blogging hiatus, which makes us suck big time. But for 2015, we hope not to do this again, and actually be as active on the blog, social media and especially on Goodreads. We also want to become more active in attending bookish events. Last year, we only attended 3 - MIBF, Gayle Forman and Stephanie Perkins book signing. This year, we will really make it a point to be present in every bookish event there is.
5. Read a Book from a Different Genre
2014 was the year of contemporary for us. Sure, there were some great books we read from different genres, but we mostly focused on contemporary. This year, we hope to branch out to even more genres and discover other great books. Some genres we want to read more on: High fantasy, new adult, historical.
6. Reply to Comments
For some reason, our comment section does NOT allow replies to comments. We’re trying to fix this asap because we really really don’t want to leave your comments hanging. This 2015, we hope to reply to every single comment, no matter how long it’ll take. And we also know how everyone loves comments so we’re making it a point to comment on people’s blog posts as much as we can this year.
7. Blog Design
We've changed the blog design, do you guys like it? :) This 2015, we hope to improve on our designing skills and hopefully get good enough to actually start a design shop! Let's see if this pushes through!
8. More Giveaways
We can't stress enough how much all of you mean to us, and we would like to keep giving back to all of you, for all your love and support. Aside from giving away books and freebies, we also plan to do another feature similar to the one we did before, where we interviewed bloggers. This time, we might try interviewing readers!
So that's it for our 2014 highlights and 2015 goals! What are your New Year's resolutions? We love chatting with you, so tell us below all about your 2014 and what you're looking forward to in 2015.
