Interviewing Chiara Garcia: Week 10

Hi guys! I know this is super delayed, so I'm really sorry. Again, we were all very busy. But, why don't we just meet this week's featured blogger! This is also the 10th and last blogger who we interviewed. Hope you enjoy her answers and get to know her!

1. Share your favorite joke or chat-up line.

I'm really bad with jokes, quite honestly! And when I do try to share some, it'll be a miracle if it actually sounds funny haha!

2. Most embarrassing moment?

I have poor memory, and I don't really hold on to bad memories too much, so I really don't remember. But once in a while I do trip and fall and get my undies flashed in front of a couple people. I'm pretty clumsy.

3. Zodiac sign?

I'm a virgo!

4. Most daring thing you've ever done?

Dropping out of college, definitely.

5. If you were about to be dropped in a pit of lava, what would you
choose as your last words?

Nothing too fancy. Maybe I'll just go, 'Goodbye beautiful world!'

6. Who is your favorite cartoon character?

Phineas and Ferb forever!

7. When you were a kid, what was the thing that was understood by
everyone but misinterpreted by you? (Example: ______ used to wonder
why people said that there was 0% interest. She means why would anyone
buy it if it wasn't even the slightest bit interesting?)

I have really poor memory as I've mentioned above so I don't remember any, sadly.

8. Who is your favorite blogger?

Is it weird to say I have none? I'm barely updated with music, movies or anything else really so it'll be almost impossible for me to keep up with blogs all the more!

9. Future plans?

To travel the world and document as much beauty as I can.

10. Animal that you would own as a pet? (Birds, cats, dogs, fishes,
bunnies, and guinea pigs not allowed)

A tiger! It's always been my dream.

11. Do you believe ants are nutritious?

Nope, but I do think they're cute. And annoying all at the same time haha!

12. Star Wars or Star Trek?

Star Wars.

13. Favorite superhero?

My dad, always.

14. Favorite super villain?

How can anyone even have a favorite villain? (I'm just saying this because nothing's popping out of my mind!)

15. Name one thing you love about yourself?

That I love life. I think that makes everything so much easier for me.

16. TBH...

I feel really unhealthy nowadays just endlessly eating and snacking away 24/7.

17. What is your favorite shirt/dress/pants/jacket/hoodie/any piece of
clothing? Attach a picture.

I don't have a photo, but I love this romper that I got on sale from Target in Aussie. So comfortable and equally pretty!

18. Word that best describes you?

Passionate, for now, and I hope forever.

19. Favorite app?

I love VSCOcam!

20. What food do you crave right now? Attach a picture.

The one and only!

21. What's the thing you can't live without?

My journal.

22. What's your happy place?

It's always just a battle between the comforts of my room or the adventures I enjoy from the great unknown.

23. You just murdered someone. How would you dispose of their body?
(Examples: throw it in the ocean, bury it, dissolve it Breaking Bad
style) We're just curious, promise. :)

This is a little bit freaky, but I think I'd go for the throwing them into the ocean. Easy, instant solution!

24. Attach a selfie!

This is the closest I can get to a selfie right now. A photo from a few weeks ago in New Zealand.

BOOK TOURS: The Lost Kingdom by Stephanie Beerden + GIVEAWAY!!!

Series: The Elements #1
Release date: April 28th 2014
Purchase: Amazon

Synopsis via Goodreads:

A Prophecy made long ago, announced the arrival of the new Ladies of Elements.

And now almost a millennia later, it finally came true …

All her life Arima thought she knew who and what she was. That is until the day of her sixteenth birthday came and her world is turned upside down, when she’s told she’s not a White Witch but Lady Spirit. And that she is the one that has been foretold, will unite the Five Ladies of Elements once again and save Ilendia and the Other Lands from Ahriman, the Demon King.

At first Arima refuses to accept her new fate, but when Shanums come and destroy her village and kill her loved ones, she has no choice but to flee and fall right into the destiny she never wanted.

As she grudgingly starts her journey into the unknown, she is accompanied by her unicorn familiar Sirrim, Blythe, a Vampire with a dark past and Myrddin, a mysterious Ljosalfar.

And the longer her journey lasts, the more Arima begins to realise that she can’t escape her own destiny and she must learn to control her powers and learn to be a Lady for the sake of the Sisters she doesn’t know and the people of Ilendia and the Other Lands.

However, things get more complicated when Arima comes into the possession of a key. Her instincts compel her to go towards danger when she discovers that the key she holds, can unlock the legendary kingdom of El├ęssima, the home of the Ladies of Elements.

She will have to make the choice to follow her instincts …

…or stay on the path that has been laid out for her.

He uncrossed his arms and clapped them together. “So you must be the new Lady Spirit, then?”
He walked up to her and then circled around her, looking her over from head to toe. He stopped right in front of her and looked her right in the eyes . “You’re a lot fatter than I thought you would be.”
Arima sputtered indignantly and ignored Sirrim’s laughter in her head and Myrrdin and Blythe’s choking sounds. She raised her fist and hit the Angel right on the cheek.
Lucien rubbed his cheek and spat out some blood. “Okay, I might have deserved that.”
“You think, you a’zavulter?” Arima hissed sarcastically at him.
Blythe choked on his spit, and Myrddin gaped at Arima when he heard what she had said.
Lucien’s eyebrows rose to his hairline . That was a new one; he’d never been called that before. “My, my —such a temper,” he teased.
“Oh, you haven’t seen anything yet ,” Arima told him. “You say you were a friend of the Ladies? I can’t imagine anyone wanting you around. It’s a mystery to me why they called you friend.”
Lucien just grinned. “Your predecessor thought otherwise, but Lady Fire, not so much. She hit me in the face, too, once. She looked cute with a blush, too.”
“I hope it hurt like hell,” she snarled at the Angel.

“It did,” Lucien admitted. “All right, funny business aside, are you ready or do you want to be stuck here for much longer? I have a lot of work to do, people to see, lightning to deliver. You understand.”

Stephanie Beerden was born on Friday the 13th (no joke, she really was) in a small city called Genk in Belgium. She has always been fascinated with the occult, magic and books. Her childhood and teen years were filled with reading lots and lots of books and imagining what life would be like as a vampire. Until one day she decided that she wanted to try her hand at writing her own books and that was the beginning of her writing adventure.

Book in Review: Breathe, Annie, Breathe by Miranda Kenneally

Title: Breathe, Annie, Breathe
Author: Miranda Kenneally
Publisher: Sourcebooks Fire
Publishing Date: July 15th, 2014
Rating: 4/5 stars

This book has just the right amounts of sweetness and excitement that makes it the perfect read for a lazy rainy day. Breathe Annie Breathe isn't the best out of all the Hundred Oaks series (of course, Catching Jordan is still my favorite!) but it is one of the best out of all the five books so far.

The heroine of Breathe Annie Breathe is Annie - a girl who is preparing to run a marathon in order to honor the death of her boyfriend. The training for the marathon is not child's play, and Annie has to deal with that. She is an admirable, headstrong and driven protagonist, but at the same time she is lost, emotional and conflicted. I found her to be a very relatable character, and I loved her for being so focused on what she wants, that she has her eye on the prize. Annie has a goal, and she will do whatever it takes to get that, and that is something I truly admire about her.

The love interest, Jeremiah, if you've read the previous books, is Will's little brother. The moment he appears in the book as the guy who runs backwards, I already knew that I was going to like this guy. He is adventurous and is a daredevil, but he also knows when to take things seriously. The relationship between Annie and Jeremiah develops very slowly in the book, and it takes Annie a while to let down her walls again. I loved how they start off as just friends, even with the undeniable attraction between the two of them.

The strongest point about Breathe Annie Breathe is definitely the subtlety of its story. It is clearly the most mature, strongest and most emotional out of all the books so far. It deals with heavy issues like death, guilt and grief. Annie is truly a complex character, and the way she deals with her grief, breath by breath, resonated with me. The story made into a great parallel of Annie working hard with her training and at the same time working hard with moving on and dealing with Kyle's death. The way the story unfolds without being too dramatic but still capturing the appropriate emotion is what makes this book very special.

This is the kind of book that tackles very serious issues in a light manner, yet without diminishing any emotional value. It's a book that's going to make you feel good about life, and find hope in the simple things.
