Feature Follow Friday

"Gain new followers and make new friends with the Book Blogger Feature & Follow!"
"The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee's View and Alison of Alison Can Read."
Guess what?
We are chosen to be this week's featured blogger!!! That means we three are featured bloggers, and we'll be answering some questions. How cool is that, right? We still can't believe we are featured, but we are a million times grateful!
We were actually supposed to be the featured bloggers last week but we forgot to reply to the email sent by Alison about us being the featured bloggers. This caused some confusion. We decided to remedy this misunderstanding by doing the featured blogger post this week. So here's this week's question:
Have you ever convinced someone to read a book, a series, or a whole genre? What book(s) and who was it? Did they like it?
Well, I didn't really convince someone but someone did read a book because she saw me reading it. I once brought a book to school. It was the first book of the Mysterious Benedict Society series. I was in third grade and one of my friends thought that it was nice, I guess. I didn't really know that she was reading the book until her mom told me about it. I never found out whether she liked it or not. I hope she did. - Audrey
I don't think I ever convinced someone, or I just can't remember anything right now. Maybe it's because I just started to really read books this summer, and I don't get to interact with a lot of people. I hope I would get to convince someone to read a book that I like, so we can fangirl about it. Haha. -Beryl
We were not able to contact Kimi since she is in another country and has been quite busy. We can still answer for her though since she was the one to introduce us to Rainbow Rowell and David Levithan's books. She was also the reason why we started reading more YA and widening the genres that we would read.

Interview Questions:
When did you start blogging?
We started blogging last year around September or so, but back then we had more of a personal blog, not a book blog. Geeky Chiquitas became mainly a book blog around New Year. While we were celebrating, we kinda got the idea that becoming a book blog would be great.
What is your favorite part of book blogging?
My favorite part about book blogging is meeting new friends. The book community is just awesome. We've interacted with authors bloggers and so many other bookish people all because of our book blog. They're all great and amazing and super friendly. They'll make new book bloggers feel right at home.
What type of books do you mainly blog about?
Mostly we blog about YA, specifically contemporary. We actually read anything but it's just that we've had a lot of great reads in that genre lately. Of course, there are also a lot of books from other genres that we have also enjoyed as much as we enjoyed the books from contemporary YA. Basically, we blog about any book that we happen to want to blog about. It just so happens that those books mainly come from YA contemporary.
What is your favorite book(s)?
My favorite book.. Ah that's hard! There's too many to choose from but classic favorite would really have to be the Harry Potter series. I can't seem to find any book that can top that.
What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?
The best thing about book blogging that has happened to me.... Is that I got to interact with a lot of great and awesome authors that I wouldn't have had the chance to talk to if it weren't for book blogging. We never really thought that we would get to interact with authors. It's amazing how, now, we get to interact with them and it's all because of book blogging.
So, that's our Feature Follow Friday! What did you think about it? What's yours? Leave a comment!

Hopping through! Glad we worked it out so you could be the feature. I should read the Mysterious Benedict Society. I like the covers.

Our book club encourages reading just about EVERYTHING! We vote on monthly group reads to discuss. Sometimes we hate 'em; sometimes we love 'em. The most important thing is to have fun, right?
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the feature! :) It's my first time to hear of the Mysterious Benedict Society, but I've always been a fan of YA. Rowell's and Levithan's books are awesome! :D Happy Friday!

Oh nice! Yay for being featured too! I've managed to get one of my friends hooked on paranormal books! So pretty much every Xmas I go to my backlist and pick titles I think she might like. And recent titles! And I sometimes have doubles so I always give those to her too!
