Valentine's Feature: Lists & Stories - Top 5 Films to See onValentine's Day (1)

10:24 PM

Hi guys! Valentine's Day is coming so soon! Because of that we will have a mini feature on the blog where we will make Valentine's lists and talk about our own Valentine's experiences (e.g. How we plan to spend it)! :) Ok so for our first feature, we won't be talking about books (gasp!) but FILMS! A lot of books have been made into films, but we won't be focusing on book-to-movie adaptations either. We will be discussing our favorite classic romance films which we think are perfect for this Valentine's! ;) don't worry, we'll find a way to squeeze in books in this feature in the next couple of days. Watch out!

Beryl and Audrey's Top 5 Movies for Valentine's

1. The Vow

This is a movie based on a true story of a newlywed couple. We placed this on our list because when we watched it, we were touched by the love of the guy for the girl.

"Life's all about moments, of impact and how they change our lives forever. But what if one day you could no longer remember any of them?"

"If we were meant to be together, we would be together."

2. Notting Hill

We loved this movie because, though the heroine is a famous movie star, she is still human and has human feelings. She gets mad, she feels pain, she falls in love. And come on, who hasn't heard of this iconic line?

"After all... I'm just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her."

3. Serendipity
We have always been fans of funny, romantic movies which is why we love this one. It's a great movie for rom-com fans!

"You know the Greeks didn't write obituaries. They only asked one question after a man died: "Did he have passion?".

4. You've Got Mail
We love this movie and it has a unique plot. It was very interesting how this film was created years ago when email was just invented and they were able to create a love story between two people who only met online. There wasn't a single part of the movie that bored us.

"The whole purpose of places like Starbucks is for people with no decision-making ability whatsoever to make six decisions just to buy one cup of coffee. Short, tall, light, dark, caf, decaf, low-fat, non-fat, etc. So people who don't know what the hell they're doing or who on earth they are can, for only $2.95, get not just a cup of coffee but an absolutely defining sense of self: Tall. Decaf. Cappuccino."

5. Sleepless in Seattle
This movie is great. It's so different from everything we've ever seen and we just love the soudtrack! No other explanations needed, just watch it!
"Destiny is something we've invented because we can't stand the fact that everything that happens is accidental."

So that's it for our list of films! :) have you seen any of them? Before we end this post, here's the 2nd half of the feature, in which we share any Valentine stories we've had or experienced.

Kimi's Valentine Story:

Okay this story isn't about me. I'd be very self absorbed and conceited to make this story about myself when in fact all I did was stand there and watch. This happened 2 years ago at school on Valentine's Day. My class was at the 10th floor of the building and I wanted to get a bite to eat at the canteen which was in the 6th floor. I rode the elevator by myself, and it stopped at the 8th floor where a girl and a boy got on the elevator. They appeared to be very good close friends and were laughing during the whole ride. I did feel like the boy didn't want me there though. Anyway, they did not seem like a couple to me, they were not touchy, but they seemed very close and friendly with each other. When we got to the 6th floor, the boy put his arms around the girl and told her to look. The elevator doors opened, and right there on the wall was a big sign that said "Will you be my Valentine?" The girl was so speechless, she looked at the guy and all she could say was "Oh My God"... Then they realized I was still in the elevator and they stepped out of it, and I watched them be happy and lovey dovey when the elevators closed and it went down and I can't believe I missed my stop!!!! I didn't get to buy food anymore, but it was a beautiful thing to witness.

Have any Valentine's stories? What movies are you watching this Valentine's day? Tell us below! :)

Stay tuned for our Valentine's feature tomorrow! :)
