Summary:

Danny Goldstein has always lived in the shadow of his identical, twin brother Sam. But when a hurricane of events forces him into the spotlight, he starts to realize that the only thing he’s truly afraid of is himself. With the help of his costume changing friend Cher, a famous gay uncle with a mysterious past of his own, two aging punk rocker parents and Rusty, the boy who will become his something to live for, Danny begins to realize that the music of the heart is truly the soundtrack for living.

I started reading this book and I was so stoked for it. I was expecting something cool. That is because it's quite difficult to write a book revolving around gay people that's not offensive, not too opinionated and is handled well. I like reading lgbt books because there aren't much of it in the world.

When I reached about 30% of the book, you can ask my sister how much I was having the gay feels. Rusty and Danny were really cute!

But, there was a twist of mindset when I was somewhere in the middle of the story. I got a bit bored. I still read it, but not like I still had the feels. Majority of the content of the book was how Rusty and Danny spent one whole week together so happy and full of butterflies. They literally just met, and they already knew that they liked each other and after again a few days, they loved each other. I'm not a fan of immediate relationships. I don't believe in those, even though both characters believed that time cannot measure love.

I was kind of dissapointed because their relationship could have been more on getting to know each other first before anything. Another thing was that I was already expecting what was going to happen, in almost all parts of the book. There was nothing spectacular about the ending as well, but it's a great way to end the book. I was happy that it ended that way.

The beginning and ending was great, and the way Danny thinks was a bit relatable too. I just think that it could've been more exciting, and less boring in the middle. Nonetheless, I did not regret reading this book. I was still glad that I read it. This book is worth checking out if you want to read something light and cute.

Events (life):
This week, something we all had in common was that we all got sick. All of us got cough and colds and Audrey actually had a fever. What a great way to start the year! After around 2 days the fever broke but we still (mostly Audrey) had coughs and colds. She's just a sickly person. Anyway, after a whole lot of lying around, Wednesday came around, officially marking the resumption of classes. Yay. Not. Kimi started her Harry Potter class where Harry Potter books are actually required reading for school. Not a bad thing, really. Meanwhile, Audrey's required reading is Tall Story by Candy Gourlay. She has not read a single page. We plan to try to relax again this weekend, and hopefully next week won't be stressful.

The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee’s View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to show off more new blogs!

How does this work?

The goal is to increase blog followers and make friends. First you leave your name here on this post, (using the linky tools — keep scrolling!) then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them “hi” in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you! What sets this Hop apart from others, is our Feature. Each week we will showcase a Featured Blogger, from all different genres and areas. Who is our Feature today? Find out below. Just remember it is required, if you participate, to follow our Features and you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee & Alison Can Read) as a courtesy. How do you follow someone? Well, if you have a preference, state it in your #FF post. A lot of blogs are transitioning to WordPress in which they do not have the luxury of GFC, so an RSS subscription is appreciated or if you choose an email subscription. If you don’t have GFC please state in your post how you would like to be followed. All features are chosen randomly to be the feature. They are not chosen by content or name.
This weeks Question:
Do you have any fun collections (other than books)?
There might be a couple of minor collections here and there, but we don't actually have collections that would qualify for this question. It's hard for us to collect since we easily lose things. The only valid things we collect are BOOKS, cause we are such book hoarders.

Kimi's Potter Experience: Week 1

 Subject: ELECLIT (Elective for Literature)
Time & Date: Mondays & Wednesdays, starting January 7 til April 2015
Kimi's Potter Experience Blog posts: Every Thursday until the class ends

Hey guys! Welcome to a new feature on our blog, Kimi's Potter Experience! I am currently enrolled in a Rowling Literature Elective (ELECLIT) this term, and starting now, I will be chronicling my class experience on this blog every Thursday of the week.

The Rowling Literature Elective is basically a course on all things Harry Potter.

Did you read that right?

YES. I am taking a subject where we FREAKING STUDY EVERYTHING ABOUT HARRY POTTER.

Apparently, my school, DLSU, is the first (I'm not sure if it's still the only) university in the Philippines that offers a course on Harry Potter. And according to our professor, she has been teaching this subject for about 10 years now, even doing this BEFORE Harvard offered their Harry Potter curriculum.

I know, I know. That sounds amazing right? I'm actually really freaking out even up to now and my hands are shaking as I type this but I am WAY TOO HAPPY AND EXCITED AND ASDFGHJKL I LOVE THIS SUBJECT ALREADY,

I've heard about this subject ages ago, like even BEFORE I got into this school, and have wanted to take it ever since I heard about it. And now that I'm finally here, I JUST CAN'T CONTAIN MY FEELINGS BECAUSE THIS IS THE MOST AMAZING THING THAT HAS HAPPENED TO ME. EVER.

I'm starting to become a huge rambling mess with all my feels, so let's cut to the chase! I'll just be doing a recap of everything we did in this class. Since it was my first day, not much happened, but still enough for feels to explode.
